Blades
Bright Knights are our best sellers and make an excellent introduction to
fine, custom blades. These high-performance blades don't compromise on sharpness,
toughness, balance, fit and finish, but are less expensive than our other
blade series. This combination of performance and affordability accounts for
their popularity.
Bright Knight blades are made from S7 steel. S7 is an extremely tough air
hardened tool steel designed to withstand repeated high impacts. It's chemical
composition includes 0.50 percent carbon, 3.25 percent chromium and 1.4 percent
molybdenum.
S7 starts out as an extremely tough steel, but Angel Sword takes this toughness
even further by using an advanced heat treatment that includes cryogenic processing.
This advanced heat and cryo treatment improves the performance of the steel
at the molecular level. The result is a high-hardness blade (RC57) that is
extremely resilient and battle ready.
Bright Knight blades are sculpted by stock removal, meaning they are machined
and ground into shape before being hardened and tempered with our advanced
heat/cryo treatment. This is a very common method for making blades, but is
different from our Avatar and Angel Sword pieces, which are forged by hand.
Each piece is hand-finished with choice hardwood handles from exotic hardwoods
such as cocobolo, cardinal wood, African purple heart and others. Materials
such as horn, brass, bone, and bronze are often used to complement handles
and blades.
Finally, every Bright Knight blade is sharpened so they are able to split
hairs or shave the grain off of a sheet of paper without cutting all the way
through.

beauty sets Bright Knight well above other commercially available blades.
